Compress PDF to 200KB

Check whether a PDF can meet a 200KB limit

Run a bounded PDF optimization job, inspect the actual output bytes, and receive a rule failure when the limit cannot be met.

The service keeps the requested 200,000-byte rule attached to the job. It re-inspects the generated PDF before declaring whether the output passes.

How it works
  1. Select a PDF in the public workspace, or upload it with a free account API key.
  2. Set the maximum output bytes and choose strict or best-effort mode.
  3. Download the artifact only after the output report confirms the rule result.
Current limits
  • The private processor accepts readable PDFs up to 25 MB and 100 pages; encrypted or active-content files are rejected.
  • Object streams and eligible embedded images are optimized with bounded recompression/downsampling candidates; text and page geometry are preserved.
  • Strict mode returns rule_not_met if the target is unreachable; best-effort mode returns a warned candidate. Existing signatures require re-signing.
Questions

Does a completed job always mean the PDF is under 200KB?

No. Job completion and rule acceptance are separate. An unreachable size target returns a structured rule_not_met error with measured output facts.
