A filename may say JPG while the bytes are another format. Server inspection reads the decoded image and reports facts without claiming that missing or unknown properties pass a rule.

How it works

Capabilities and limits

Server inspection uploads the selected bytes. Local browser inspection stays on your device but may not decode HEIC or other uncommon inputs.
Inspection alone does not strip metadata or create a replacement file.
The report indicates GPS/EXIF presence; it does not display or log the private contents.

Questions

How do I remove location metadata?

Use a conversion, compression, resize or crop operation. These produce a new file with private metadata removed; the resulting facts are checked again.
