Image metadata checker

Read actual image dimensions, DPI and metadata

Inspect decoded image dimensions, format, DPI, frames and EXIF/GPS presence before converting. Basic browser checks are also available locally.

A filename may say JPG while the bytes are another format. Server inspection reads the decoded image and reports facts without claiming that missing or unknown properties pass a rule.

Inspect images
Choose images, set your options and start. Basic processing needs no login; transformed outputs correct orientation and remove private metadata.

0 images in queue. DPI changes print density, not image detail. Animated and multipage images use the first frame and return a warning.

How it works
  1. Select the image and choose Inspect images.
  2. Run the check to read dimensions, frame count, format and metadata flags.
  3. Review your submission report; use conversion if you need a clean re-encoded copy.
Capabilities and limits
  • Server inspection uploads the selected bytes. Local browser inspection stays on your device but may not decode HEIC or other uncommon inputs.
  • Inspection alone does not strip metadata or create a replacement file.
  • The report indicates GPS/EXIF presence; it does not display or log the private contents.
Questions

How do I remove location metadata?

Use a conversion, compression, resize or crop operation. These produce a new file with private metadata removed; the resulting facts are checked again.
